 Promethean Pens Not Working

  1. Try different pens
    1. Try all of your pens on your board also it might be good to try your neighbor’s pen(s) as well.
    2. You might also try the pen(s) you suspect of being bad on your neighbors board.
    3. If you find that some pens work then the pens that don’t work must be bad and need to be replaced.
    4. Please let the technology department know so that they can arrange to have the bad pen(s) replaced.
    5. If all pens fail go to step 2.
  2. The board must be unplugged and plugged back in. The power cord is underneath the board in most cases.
  3. You need to restart the computer connected to the board
  4. You need to make sure the cable that connects the computer to the board is connected. You have to check it both ends of the cable. The cable end on the computer and the end on the board. The cable end on the board is behind the board. The board will come off the wall by simply lifting up on one end of the board. After moving the board in any way it is usually necessary to recalibrate the board.
  5. You must also try to recalibrate the board if possible.
  6. The power pack, the black square in the middle of the power cord, must be well below the board. It can not sit in the chalk tray below the board. It must be lower than that. If it is not lower it will interfere with the pens operation.

If these steps fail, please submit a tech support ticket.
