"Site Settings" Button Not Showing on Chromebook Screen

Several of you have reported that the Site Settings link/button is not showing up properly on students’ Chromebooks.  The problem is the screen resolution has been changed to something greater than 100%.  Please tell those students to follow these steps to correct the problem (or print and give this to them):

Solution:

  1. Click the Time, Wi-Fi, Power icon box in the bottom right corner.
  2. Click the Settings icon.
  3. Type Displays in the Search field
  4. Click Displays.
  5. Find Display Size.
  6. Drag the slider to the left to change the setting to 100%.
  7. Close Settings.
  8. Return to the website on which Site Settings could not be seen.
  9. Click the Lock or Info button in the URL bar.
  10. Site Settings should now appear.  Click it and make the changes necessary for that website – probably allowing Flash.

Please note that students can change that back by following Steps 1-7 and increasing it from 100% to 110%, 115%, etc.  Howeverif screen size is an issue, I recommend using the Zoom features by holding the Ctrl key and pressing + to zoom in or  to zoom out.  (FYI… that works on your desktop browser too.)
